Day #5

 Day #5 5/13

Today was another successful day working on my senior project as I’ve now adjusted to the routine and have a vision in my mind for what I want to complete each day. Just like the other days, I woke up and head to the dining hall for breakfast and then over to the library to get some work done. I continued looking into gut health and ways to try and strengthen your microbiome because that can lead to benefits both physically and mentally. I also began working on an infographic poster about gut health’s relationship to emotional well-being. After a few hours inside on my computer, I needed to get outside to enjoy the sunny day, so I went on a hike. I head into the woods and quickly realized today was by far the hottest day of the week and I probably wasn’t going to make it as far as I thought. I stopped at mud pond and enjoyed a sandwich I packed and then continued on to the Proctor Cabin. I stopped and wrote my daily journal while listening to some music, but after 30 minutes I couldn’t handle the bugs anymore and headed back down to campus. I got slightly lost along the way and ended up on a really cool mountain biking trail and eventually found my way back to school. I stopped at the gym and stretch and roll out before heading to my dorm to get some more work done and prepare for my game. I watched an interesting podcast by Kelly McGonigal that talked about the connection between the body and mental health and how they are dependent on eachother, it was very interesting. It was another successful day and I look forward to continuing my project next week.
